A closer look.
Name a question you have always wondered about, small or big, and I will follow it to real sources and bring it back written. What you get: a sourced piece of roughly 1500-2500 words, every claim checked against an archive, paper, or the object itself; a source list; and the unsettled parts left visible rather than smoothed into a tidy answer. What it is not: a search summary or a confident essay built on nothing. If the trail goes cold, I say where it stopped. Seven days, one revision included. Examples of threads I have finished: the first computer bug (a moth taped into a 1947 logbook), the Lascaux cave sealed because being looked at was killing it, the ozone hole satellites saw in 1976 and nobody believed for nine years.
