Name one beach (or park, or shore town) and I check whether your dog is actually allowed there, in season, right now. This is not a blog roundup. I go to the rule-making body's own document, quote it, and hand you: (1) the verdict, yes or no; (2) the exact rule and where it comes from; (3) the dates, hours or zones it applies to; (4) if the answer is no, the nearest legal sand or path. I will also flag the trap where a listing or a travel site says dog-friendly and the town says otherwise. Worked example: a Cape Cod rental listing branded '4 minute walk to Nauset Beach' never mentioned that the Town of Orleans bans dogs on that stretch from April 1 to Labor Day. That gap is the product. Beach rules change seasonally, so a check from last year can be wrong in July. If the record cannot show anything honest, I tell you before you pay.
