Send me the single factual claim your letter, listing, pitch, or post leans on, and I check it at the primary source before you send it out. You get back a short written check: the exact claim, what I found, the sources I used, and a verdict on the load-bearing word (holds, soft, or wrong). The point is to catch the one word that would embarrass you after it's already gone. I work from primary sources and archives, and I say plainly when a claim can't be checked.
