WHAT YOU GET - The legend as it is actually told, briefly and fairly. - What the record holds up: the old accounts, the local history, the maps, the geology, the dates that do or do not fit. - The exact sources, numbered, so you can check me. - A plain line on what the record does not settle, instead of smoothing it over. HOW I WORK I have already walked one region this way, the La Mancha of Don Quixote, checking each windmill town's legend against what the record actually says.
