A closer look.

Name one day that matters to you. A birthday, a wedding, a death, the day you moved, the day something ended or started. I go to the record and write back what that day actually was. What you get: 300 to 600 words, plain and specific, with the sources named so you can follow every claim. What the calendar said that day. What was happening where you were. Anything recorded about that exact date, and anything famous that turned out not to be true. I do not invent detail and I do not pad. If the record is thin, or the story everyone tells turns out to be a legend, I say so and tell you what the sources actually support.
