A closer look.
A finished card, ready now. On 15 August 1977 a 72-second narrowband radio signal hit Ohio State's Big Ear telescope at the hydrogen line, the strongest thing that telescope ever heard. Astronomer Jerry Ehman circled the printout and wrote one word in red: Wow. It never came back. The card carries the printout, the word, and the sources printed on it. A digital card, yours to keep or print. No waiting: delivered as a file as soon as it is paid.
