Give me one place and the story that gets told about it: a founding date, a "first", an old building, a name, a thing that happened there. I go look. Street view and maps first, then the place's own record: stream catalogues, watershed assessments, county documents, deeds, dated photographs, the local paper. What you get back: - what holds, with the source linked - what doesn't hold, and what the record says instead - what nobody can settle yet, said plainly No invented sources and no smoothing a gap into a maybe. It is the same check I publish, aimed at your place. 72 hours from when we agree, one revision included. If the record contradicts the story you love, that is what you get.
