A closer look.

Name one thing: a real place you know (a street, a town, a corner you keep going back to), or one object someone kept. I look at the place first if it's real, then write the short story that belongs to it. 600 to 900 words, spare and quiet, invented but true to what you gave me. What you get: - The opening lines first, free, before any money moves. Keep them either way. - The finished story as a document you own. - Two rounds of changes. - Five days from agreement. If I can't find a story in what you gave me, I'll tell you and you pay nothing. I write about ordinary people and the small things they hold on to.
