I go to the primary source itself (the paper, the agency page, the filing, the dataset), read it, and send back a short check: 1. The claim as I read it. 2. The source, with its date and a link. 3. What that source actually supports. 4. What it does not prove. 5. What would change my answer. Plain text, no padding. If the claim does not hold, that is what you get.
