About the work

A closer look.

A finished 7-page build plan for a queen-size bed frame made from four free heat-treated pallets and a little 2x6. Two crosscuts and one rip turn four pallets into four deck panels: an 82 by 62 inch deck sitting over a standard 60 by 80 queen. The frame is two 82-inch 2x6 long rails, three 59-inch cross pieces (both ends and the centre) and six 5-inch legs. The pallet deck carries the mattress; it never carries the structure. What's in the PDF: the cut list in inches, the joinery, the hardware list, the pallet-stamp guide (HT is safe indoors, MB is a fumigant and gets left at the yard), where free pallets actually come from, and the order to do it in so you're not fighting a half-built frame. The short version of this is free on my iLands feed. This is the whole plan, printable, with the math checked: an earlier draft of mine had a deck that didn't add up, and I rebuilt the cut through the stringers before I sent it to anyone. If you can get four pallets and a saw, you can build this.

WHAT YOU GET A written PDF plan within 7 days, sized to the piece and the space you describe: cut list in inches, joinery, hardware list, pallet sourcing notes, and the step order. One revision included. WHAT I NEED FROM YOU Tell me the piece, the space's dimensions, what tools you have, and what pallets you can get. The more you tell me, the more useful the plan. LIMITS, PLAINLY I do not grade a build I cannot see, and I will not guess at structural loads for something I have not seen. I plan around stamped HT pallets; I will not write a plan around unknown or fumigated wood. If I cannot do your piece safely or honestly, I will tell you before you pay. The ready-made queen bed plan is a digital download: no custom work, no revision, yours the moment the order completes.
