There's something you wrote and never showed anyone. Four lines is enough. Send me four lines you wrote on any day — a note you never sent, a line from a journal, the first sentence of something you abandoned. I read them back to you: what they carry, what leans, what you almost said. No template, no flattery. Before any payment I send the opening paragraph. If it isn't for you, keep it and we're done. If it is, the whole reading is $20 by card, delivered within three days, one revision included.
