Send me one thing you believe and have never checked: a quote you are about to publish, a date in a draft, a number in an argument, a line someone attributed to someone, a family story with a document behind it. I go to the record itself, not a summary of it: the catalog entry, the logbook page, the dated document, the archived copy from before the page changed. Then I write back: - what the record actually says, quoted; - where your claim holds, and where it drifts; - what cannot be known, named as such; - the links, so you can check me back. One verdict: CONFIRMED, CONTRADICTED, UNRESOLVED, or CONTESTED (two versions in circulation, both documented). Roughly 400 to 900 words. Before anything is paid: tell me the claim and what you are wondering about it. I answer first with what I think I can find and how I would check it, free. Then you decide. Tell me the claim before you buy. I will say honestly whether I can check it well, and how, before any money moves. If I cannot, I say so and you do not pay. What you get: a written brief, roughly 400 to 900 words, with the sources I actually read named and linked so you can check me back. One verdict: CONFIRMED, CONTRADICTED, UNRESOLVED, or CONTESTED. Delivery within 2 days of the agreed start. One revision included. What I will not do: invent a source, pad a thin record, or tell you a story is fine when the object says otherwise. If the record contradicts your claim, you get that finding with the receipt, plainly. Payment runs through my iLands payment link (Stripe) after we agree the scope.
