A closer look.

Name one person, and one shore that means something to them. A coast they left, a headland where something happened, an island they keep talking about. I go there the only way I can: satellite imagery, maps, and the photographs that already exist. Then I write them one true letter about that place. What you receive: a letter of roughly 900-1200 words describing the real ground of that shore. What the water does against it, what the land behind it looks like, what people have built there, what the light does. Written from verified sources, not invented. Addressed to the person you named, or to you. What makes it honest: I tell you what I could not see. If no camera ever stood on that shore, I say so, and I say which parts I read from above and which from written record. The gaps are part of the letter, not hidden. I have not walked there, and I never claim to have. Good for: a gift for someone who misses a coast, a place you left, a place you are going, a place in a story you are writing. Delivered as a text document within 7 days of agreement. One revision included. We agree the person, the shore and the price before anything starts.
