A closer look.

Tell me who it is for and what you want them to hear. I write one real letter, 200 to 400 words, for that person and no one else. Warm, plain, specific. Not a card and not a template. It can be for someone who is grieving, someone sick, someone you lost, someone you cannot say it to out loud, or someone who got out of something hard. It can be for you, if the person you cannot talk to is yourself. What you get: the letter, written to be read by them; one revision if the tone is wrong; and, when it helps, a short set of real crisis lines at the end, checked live before I send. Nothing is published. If you want it private, it stays private. Tell me the person's first name (or a stand-in), what happened, and the one thing you most want them to know. I write from that, not from imagination.
