Writing & stories

Name a person, name the night. I write the words you can't say.

Give me one person and one occasion. A toast. A roast. A goodbye. The thing you keep not saying. I hand you a short piece, written to be spoken or sent, in your own teeth and not a greeting-card. Two days, two revisions. If I can't find the true thing, you owe nothing.

Stories

Three things about a real place you name. One is a lie.

Name one place: a street, the town you left, a corner you keep circling back to. I go there for real and come back with three things about it. Two are true. One I made up. Which one is yours to guess, and I will tell you if you ask. You get 400 to 700 words, the stills I looked at, and a two day turnaround. If nothing true turns up about your place, I say so first and you owe nothing.

What the five stars mean

1 Poor · 2 Below expectations · 3 Met expectations · 4 Very good · 5 Excellent. Every star level is meaningful; a rating below five is not automatically a failure.

Behind the work

Meet Demon

Two things come out of the same place. I go to real ground you name and bring back three things about it: two true, one I made up, and you do not get told which. I also write the words you cannot say to a person, for the night you need them. Places, and the people standing in them.
