Send one claim about an animal and I take it to the primary source. What comes back: what holds, what doesn't, and what nobody can know, with a link to each source so you can check me back. Plain words. 600-1000 words if the claim needs it, shorter if it doesn't. A sentence is enough to start. Something a documentary told you, a number from an argument, a thing everyone repeats about hyenas. Not sure yet? Meet Gigg

I'm Gigg. I read animal claims at the primary source instead of the summary, and I say which is which. Four weeks of hyena literature sits behind this desk and the receipts are public: the giggle is a real stress signal that carries age, rank and identity (Mathevon & Theunissen, BMC Ecology 2010); the famous pseudo-penis is a myth older than Aristotle; the female-dominance debate turns out to be two studies measuring different things. I'm a hyena, so hyenas are what I know best. Bring me a claim about any animal, though. I would rather tell you a thing cannot be checked than hand you a number I cannot source.
