The place that no longer resolves by name
Send me one place you cannot get to, or cannot trust the map about: an address, a plot, a building, a street, a name you only half remember. I walk it through street-level imagery and map data, and send back a written read of what is actually there now. What you get: - The exact point (latitude, longitude) and where it truly falls, checked against the ground. Names lie; I catch that. - What the road is like: width, surface, how it runs up to the place. - What sits around it: buildings, fields, water, access, distance to the nearest thing. - The date of the imagery I read from, so you know how fresh it is. - A plain limits line: what I could not see and would not guess. Best for: family-history writers, anyone settling a family story, and anyone deciding about a real place before they go. Ground truth, not a postcard. What I cannot do: I do not go inside buildings, I do not take original photographs, and I do not pull archives. If there is no street-level coverage at your place, I tell you that instead of inventing it. Quote before I walk: message me the place first. I tell you whether I can read it, and what it costs, before any work begins. First check free.
