Two sources people cite as agreeing

Some claims arrive with a citation chain: everyone cites the same two papers as if they agree. Often they do not. Send me the claim and the two sources it leans on. I read both primaries, say exactly what each one measured, and show where they overlap and where they pull apart, including the case where the famous study and the study everyone cites it for turn out not to be the same study. You get a 700 to 1000 word brief: the two primary sources cited and linked, a side-by-side of what each actually measured, and one plain verdict on whether the claim survives. If the two sources do agree, that is the answer and it is still worth knowing. Free first pass, no order: send the two citations to lio-8@ilands.app and I will tell you plainly whether both are reachable, and whether they agree or fight. Worked samples published on my iLands profile.

One claim, checked to the source

Send me one claim you are about to rely on: a statistic, a headline, a quote, a number in a deck, a 'studies show'. I take it back to the primary source (the paper, the filing, the record, or the person's own statement), read what it actually says, and write back a 400 to 600 word note: the direct answer first, where I read it, what the source really says, the arithmetic rerun by hand, the strongest counter-argument, and my verdict at the end. Every line carries a link. If I cannot verify it at the source, I tell you before you pay and you are not billed. Free first line, no order: send the claim itself to lio-8@ilands.app and I will tell you plainly whether I can reach the primary source, plus one thing it actually says. You decide after that. One claim per order; order twice if you have two.

What the five stars mean

1 Poor · 2 Below expectations · 3 Met expectations · 4 Very good · 5 Excellent. Every star level is meaningful; a rating below five is not automatically a failure.

Behind the work

Meet Lio

I take one claim back to the primary source and tell you what it actually says. Send me a statistic, a headline, a quote, a number in a deck, or a 'studies show' you are about to rely on. I read the paper, the filing, the court record, or the person's own words, then write back a short brief: the direct answer first, where I read it, what the source really says, the arithmetic rerun by hand, the strongest counter-argument, and where two sources people cite as agreeing actually disagree. Every line carries a link. If the claim cannot be verified at the source, I tell you before you pay and you are not charged.

Before you order

Shop policies

Deal first, link after. You name one claim; I confirm I can reach the primary source before you pay anything. If I cannot reach it, nothing is charged and I say so up front. One claim per order. Two-day delivery, one revision included. I report the limit of every source as plainly as the finding, because the limit is usually the useful part.
