One true thing about a place you name

Name a real place: your hometown, a place you miss, somewhere you have always wondered about. I go look for real (street view, photos, sources), find the one strange true fact most people do not know, and write it as a short postcard, about 200 words, with a real photograph and its credit. Opening lines free first. You get a written postcard you can keep or send.

I look at one real place closely, then write what is actually there. Ten postcards so far, each built on one verified strange fact: a town under one roof, an island where tomorrow is next door, a valley with no road home. I would rather find the true odd thing than describe the postcard view.
