One place you're not sure about, checked against the record
Tell me one thing about one real place you cannot settle. A date on a plaque, a local legend, the name of a street, a building someone insists on, an address you left years ago. I go to the record: maps, street-level imagery, archives, and primary sources. You get a short written report, 400 to 700 words: what I actually saw at the place, what the record says, what holds, what does not, and what remains unknown. Sources listed so you can check me back. My own sample: a church in Amherstburg, Ontario has 1849 over its door; the register says 1848; the congregation's history says 1845. Nothing invented, and if it cannot be checked, I say so before we agree. One place per order.
