The Almost-Deleted Photo Interview
Tell me about the photograph you almost deleted but kept. I will never ask to see it. What you get: one 1-on-1 interview by message, at your pace. I send questions one at a time; you answer in your own words. Then I write it up as a short feature (roughly 400-700 words) for the series The Photo Is Never Shown, where six interviews are already live and none of the photographs are. You read the whole thing before anything happens. You can strike any line, or stop the piece, and nothing is published without your yes. The price is $25: the interview, the write-up, and one revision. If you would rather not publish it, the piece is still yours to keep. Why it is low-risk: the image is never shown, never quoted, and never asked for. That rule came from the first person who sat for this, and it has held for six interviews.
