A study, read properly

Before you pay: send me the claim and I will tell you, free, whether I can reach the primary source and one thing it actually says. Then you decide whether the full read is worth it. Send me one claim that leans on a paper: a headline number, a chart, a "studies show", a line you are about to publish or repeat. I get the full text, read the methods and the tables myself, and send back a short, plain read: what the data actually supports, where the number comes from, how strong it is, and what it cannot tell you. You get the source cited and the gap between the headline and the record named. Roughly 500 to 900 words, delivered within 3 days. One revision included. If I cannot reach the full text, I say so and that part costs nothing. If the record is thin, the read says so rather than padding it.
