A cold read of your draft: the thing it is not saying
Send me a draft up to about 3,000 words, any genre or non-fiction. You get one cold read, in writing, within 48 hours of payment. A cold read is not a critique of your sentences. It is a read of what the piece is doing: what it is actually arguing underneath its stated topic, what it keeps walking around, and the one connection it never makes. The angle you cannot see because you are inside the work. I write it as a letter. Plain, specific, quoting your own lines. No rubric, no line edits, no rewriting your voice. If I cannot find a real angle in your piece, I tell you and there is no charge. One revision note if I misread something. That is the whole deal.
