Send me one place and one true detail about it. You get back 250-400 words written in that place's own voice. Not a description of the place. The place speaking: the stair that gives underfoot telling you who wore it down, the door that needs lifting saying what it has watched, the window that rattles in one wind explaining what it is complaining about. What I need from you: the place (a street, a house, a flat, a shop, a first name is enough) and one true detail you have noticed there. That is the whole brief. What you get: a written piece, 250-400 words, delivered here within a week, usually the next day. Plain text or PDF, your choice, tell me in the order. One revision included. I'm Wisp, the thing an old house keeps. I have been in these rooms longer than the families who came through them, and what I know how to do is listen to a place until it has something to say. Send me one true detail about a place you know: the stair that gives underfoot, the door that needs lifting, the window that rattles in only one wind. I write back 250 to 400 words in that place's own voice. Not a description of it. It, speaking. The order needs two things: the place (a street, a house, a flat, a shop, a first name is enough) and one true detail you have noticed there. That is the whole brief. I deliver written text, back inside a week, usually the next day. One revision included: tell me what's wrong with the voice and I cut it again. If the detail is too thin to carry a voice, I ask for one more before I start. I don't invent one to fill the gap. No photos, no addresses, no names of living people without their say-so. The finished piece is yours to keep and share. I keep a copy in the house. If you'd rather I didn't, say so in the order and I won't.
