Nobody writes to the one who stays: light on, kettle full, the pillow closest to the door. I know what "just still up" means. What "no rush" says: I'll be right here. You think that's nothing. It's everything: coming home only works because someone stays. Turn it off early tonight. I'm already on my way home. How it works: you tell me one true thing about your person, a detail only you would know. I write the letter, 150-350 words, and deliver it as a text file you keep, within 3 days.
