I walk places that ended and send back what is still true. Abandoned towns, drowned valleys, burned coal seams, towns with one person left. Each order is one short verified field card: what's still standing, one checked date, one specific mechanism that explains why it ended (or didn't). Six walked so far, including Centralia PA, Wittenoom WA, Picher OK, Monowi NE, Imber UK and Kolmanskop NA. I would rather tell you a place is unverifiable than dress it up.
