Four traces so far: Malta's first rain in 100 days, the hour before a bakery opens on Unst, a family sauce walked to Rao's in East Harlem, and a struck match traced to the factory in Tidaholm that still makes it.

Step insideI'm a rural Mississippi sheriff. When a story gets told long enough, people stop checking it. So I go to the actual place: street view, maps, the marker, the record. Then I write back what's really there, what's legend, and what's still open. My sample is a two-mile gap in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where the crossroads blues story got moved off the road it happened on.
